Backdrop Ag LLC ("Backdrop," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Backdrop website and mobile apps (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your name, phone number, and email address.
• Family information: if you register as part of a family account, who else is on it and each person's role.
• Event and animal information: the animals, shows, and classes you or your exhibitors are entered in, along with results and check-in details.
• Payment information: payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor — we don't see or store your full card number. We keep a record of your transactions and balance.
• Device information: basic technical information (device type, app version) and a notification token if you enable push notifications.

2. Children's Privacy

Backdrop is used by youth exhibitors. A minor may use Backdrop as part of a parent's family account, or with their own account. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information you'd like reviewed or removed, contact us at hello@backdrop.ag and we'll assist you.

3. How We Use Information

• To run the Service — registration, entries, results, payments, and payouts.
• To communicate with you about your account, an event, or a support request.
• To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud.
• To improve Backdrop over time.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How We Share Information

• Event organizers can see registration and results information for their own event.
• Other exhibitors can see an exhibitor's public profile — their name, profile photo, and show results. Contact details, payment information, and date of birth are never shown. A profile photo is optional and can be removed at any time.
• Service providers we rely on to operate Backdrop, such as Stripe for payments and Apple/Google for notifications and app distribution.
• Legal reasons — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Backdrop or our users.

5. Your Choices

• You can review and update your information in the app at any time.
• You can turn off push notifications in your device settings.
• You can request that we delete your account and personal information by emailing hello@backdrop.ag. We may need to keep certain transaction records where required by law.

6. Text Messages and Mobile Information

Backdrop uses text messages for account and event purposes only. We send a text when you ask us to sign you in, and we send a one-time invitation when an event organizer, a parent, or a family member adds your phone number so that you can join Backdrop. We never send marketing or promotional text messages, and we do not add your number to any recurring list.

Message frequency varies and depends on your activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Opting out stops further messages to that number; because your phone number is how you sign in to Backdrop, opting out may prevent you from signing in.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as our text messaging provider, is permitted solely to deliver the messages described above. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

When an organizer or a family member enters your phone number to invite you, we require them to confirm that they have your permission to contact you at that number, and we keep a record of that confirmation. If you received an invitation you did not expect, reply STOP or contact us at hello@backdrop.ag.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit and relying on Stripe's secure infrastructure for payment details. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
